“Rama came to feed the roots of truth and righteousness,
Krishna came to foster peace and love.
Now all these four are in danger of being dried up.
That is why the present Avatar has come.” Sathya Sai Baba

There will be celebration of Chinese New Year at Prashanti Nilayam. The 1st and 2nd day of Chinese New Year 2014 fall on 31st January 2014 and 1st February 2014. Om Mani Padme Hung Retreat For World Peace will be conducted over 1 – 2- 3 February in Prashanti Nilayam.
The Om Mani Padme Hung Retreat is a recitation retreat where participants gather to recite the six syllable mantra OM MANI PADME HUNG, which is the heart mantra of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Guan Yin). This event is usually organised annually by many Buddhist organisations around the world, with the common goal of reciting and offering 100 million Om Mani Padme Hung mantras for universal peace and for the benefit of all sentient beings.
During the past many Chinese New Year celebrations since 2007 Sathya Sai Baba has encouraged the chanting of ‘Om Mani Padme Hung’. You may view the video of a short chanting of ‘Om Mani Padme Hung’ during the Chinese New Year celebration in 2010 in Sai Kulwant Hall
“Do not waste time speculating over what would happen in this New Year. If your actions are good, your future is bound to be good. The future of the nation depends on your actions. God is a witness; He neither protects nor punishes you. Each one is responsible for their pleasure or pain. In this New Year, develop new and sacred feelings and make everybody happy. Do not struggle for money; strive for love. Once you develop love, there will be no scope for evil qualities like anger, jealousy, etc. If your thoughts and actions are good, your future will be good. Then the whole country, nay, the whole world will prosper. Pray for the peace and prosperity of the entire world. Peace can be attained only through practice of human values.” …Baba

Prasanthi’s 2013 Birthday Evening
“My Birthday is the Date when Divinity Blossoms in your Heart”
– Sathya Sai Baba
“Swami does not rejoice in the celebration of birthdays. Since all of you have come for this celebration, I am obliged to give you satisfaction. I have no wants. Whatever I do is for your sake. Recognize this truth. I have no dislike for anyone and no one dislikes me. All are mine and I belong to all. My benediction is “May all be happy”. Everyone should adhere to the path of righteousness. All should manifest their spiritual essence and experience spiritual bliss. Till you realize that spiritual oneness, you have to perform devotional acts like Bhajans, repetition of the name of God, and prayers”.
“With holy thoughts in you on this auspicious day, you must go out into the world and spread your sacred feelings among others. Don’t confine your feelings to yourselves or retain them only during your stay here. Spread them wherever you go”.
– Divine Discourse: 23 November 1997
The 50th Birthday Celebrations of Bhagawan Baba was first of the many grand Birthday Celebrations. It was one of the first times such large gathering assembled at Puttaparthi at the same time.

“Today, thousands of people have gathered here. What has brought them together here? Love is the main cause. Without love, but few of you would have come from such distant places. How does this love express itself? It is a process of give and take. You have to receive God’s love, and you have to offer your love to Him. But, both are one and the same love. God’s love is reflected in you. That is the meaning of the declaration in the Bhagawad Geetha: “A spark of Mine is present in every being.”
– Divine Discourse: 23 November 1996
We have to treat others’ suffering and difficulties as our own. We have to be amicable with one and all. We must develop faith in the maxim that we are “Ekatmaswarupas (Embodiments of One Divine Self). If our thoughts are good, we will always engage ourselves in satkarmas (good deeds). If you indulge in bad thoughts, you will see bad everywhere. If you eat a mango, can you get the belch of a cucumber? No! Similarly, if you always entertain good thoughts, you will see good everywhere. We must also develop a sense of discrimination to differentiate between the good and bad, and incorporate the good, leaving the bad behind. This principle should be followed in society too with all our fellow human beings. See good, do good and be good – that is the way to God!
– Divine Discourse, 23 Nov, 2008
There are no defects in God. All words and deeds of God are perfect. You see the reflection, reaction and resound of your feelings. They are psychological in nature. God always gives good alone. Understand and experience this truth.

A song of love to our beloved Lord Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Written and performed by Chris Fleming
Manipulating sacred photographs of and by Swami for self advertisment.
Is this appropiate???

With the Chitravathi River descending the gorges
And flowing as a moat on one side
Set like a green gem in a ring of hills,
With temple bells pealing on the eminences around,
Enriched by the tank built by Chikkaraya
Ajacent to the town that bears the name of Bukka
The far-famed Emperor of Vijayanagara,
Puttaparthi is the abode of both Lakshmi and Saraswathi
– Old Village Song
It was here, that a new awakening was about to take place. It was here that humanity would be afforded a new beginning…

Sai Ram Sai Ram Sai Ram…Welcome to Parthi!!!
Sri Sathya Sai Baba was born as Sathyanarayana Raju on November 23, 1926 in the village of Puttaparthi, in the state of Andhra Pradesh in South India. Even as a child, His spiritual inclination and contemplative nature set Him apart from other children of His age, and He was known as Guru and Brahmajnani(knower of Brahman or Godhead) among His peers and others in the village. However, it was not until October 20, 1940, the day He made the historic declaration of His Avatarhood, (Avatar – Divinity Incarnate) that the world at large learnt of this divine phenomenon. Today, millions of devotees from all over the world, professing various faiths, and hailing from various walks of life worship Him as an Avatar, and an incarnation of the Sai Baba of Shirdi. Thousands gather every day at Prasanthi Nilayam, His ashram established beside the village of Puttaparthi, for His Darshan, when He moves among devotees blessing them and providing spiritual succour and solace.
