Why does God Incarnate and what is it that Bhagawan wants us to learn from His presence. Bhagawan explains to us today.

God incarnates for the sake of redemption of mankind and not for His own sake. He comes down to tell humanity its divine origin and to exhort people to return to God by following the Principle of Love. Through love you can achieve anything. It is this message that has to be understood today – the role of the Avatar in leading mankind through love to a Godly life. Every human being is an incarnation of the Divine. The Divine dwells in every being. Every moment marks the Lord’s advent, because human beings are being born continually. Therefore, dedicate every moment to the thoughts of God. When you do this, in due course you will experience the Divine. You will be free from delusions and be divinised. Man is born to merge in the grace of the Divine and not to immerse oneself in mundane pleasures. Suffuse your life with love and round it off with love. – Baba -Divine Discourse, 5 April 1998.

When waking pray every morning of your life

“Oh Lord, I am born from the womb of sleep.

I am determined to carry out all tasks this day as offerings to you

with you ever present before my mind’s eye.

Make my words, thoughts and deeds sacred and pure;

let me not inflict pain on anyone; let no one inflict pain on me;

direct me, guide me this day”

And when you enter the portals of sleep at night, pray

“Oh Lord, the tasks of this day, whose burden I placed on you this morning are over.

It was you who made me walk, talk, think and act.

I, therefore place at your feet all my thoughts, words and deeds.

My task is done. Receive me. I am coming back to you”

“The flame of a lamp has two significant qualities. One is to banish darkness; the other is a continuous upward movement. Even if a lamp is kept in a pit, the flame is directed upwards. The ancients have taught that the upward movement of the flame denotes the path to wisdom and the path to divinity. However, the external light can dispel only the external darkness, but not the darkness of ignorance in man.

“Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu”

Let all beings in all worlds be happy and peaceful…

On August 31st 2008, in an interview to all the former students of Sri Sathya Sai University who are working as staff in various Swami’s institutions in Puttaparthi and Bangalore, Swami directed that the universal prayer “Lokah Samasthah Sukhino Bhavantu” which is chanted at the end of every Sai Bhajan session should actually be chanted as “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu.”

Swami said that in the current version of the prayer which is “Lokah Samasthah Sukhino Bhavantu”, the meaning is understood as “Let everybody in this world be happy.” But truly our outlook should be much broader, and our prayer all-inclusive to include all beings in every plane in all the worlds that exist in this entire universe. And this is what is conveyed in the modified version of this universal prayer.

Therefore, it should be chanted as “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu.”
